I use appropriated pharmaceutical advertisements, dismantling their precise language and the sometimes banal, sometimes surreal imagery they deploy. I utilize them in various ways but often start by cutting them apart into pieces. Sometimes I reassemble them in a series of repeated phrases (lists of side effects, the phrase "Ask Your Doctor"), images, or kinds of drugs. Other times I overlay them into chaotic, almost hallucinogenic layers that saturate the space around them with a cacophony of competing images and sounds. These videos can be minimal or excessive, delicate or blunt.
